COMMON QUESTIONS

All questions.

By Paul Pfeiffer · autonom

  • What's the best way to get started?

With the free Digital Check: seven questions, three minutes, an instant assessment. If you want to go deeper, book the feasibility analysis — a 60-minute call plus a written report covering feasibility, cost range, expected savings and an Ai Act traffic light. On a follow-up engagement it is credited against implementation.

  • Do you only advise or also implement?

Both, from a single source. We advise, set up our ready-made solutions — Ai Assistant, Quote Assistant and Knowledge Base — and build custom software when the right tool does not exist. That way recommendation and implementation stay aligned.

  • Do you use Ai everywhere?

No. Ai is not always the best answer. A simple automation, a good template or a clear workflow often solves the problem faster and cheaper. We recommend Ai where it measurably helps — and say so openly when it does not.

  • What is the difference between ready-made solutions and custom software?

Ready-made solutions have a fixed, proven core. We set them up with your data, your workflows and your design — fast and easy to plan. We build custom software when your workflow is so specific that no existing tool fits. The feasibility analysis shows which route is worth it.

  • Do you only work in Germany?

No. We advise companies across Europe, remotely or on site — in German or English. We are based in Dautphetal, Hessen, Germany.

  • What about the EU Ai Act? Do I need to deal with it now?

Yes. The training obligation has applied since February 2025, and further core obligations have applied since 2 August 2026. Even if you “just” use ChatGPT in your team, documentation and training matter. The Ai Act traffic light is part of every analysis we do — not a separate upsell.

  • How fast do I get results?

Feasibility analysis: your written report arrives within a week of the call. On-site analysis: one week after the second day. Ready-made solutions are usually live within a few weeks; custom software is delivered step by step.

  • What company sizes do you work with?

Typically companies with 10 to 500 employees, plus departments of larger organisations and public bodies. What matters is less the size than a workflow that can be noticeably improved. If you are unsure, the Digital Check shows whether we are a fit.

  • What if I don't want to continue after the feasibility analysis?

You keep your written report with cost range and Ai Act assessment — use it yourself or hand it to another provider. No contract locks you into continuing.

  • How long am I locked in?

Ongoing advisory can be cancelled monthly. Implementation projects are agreed upfront and end at acceptance. For ready-made solutions in operation, term and conditions are stated transparently in the proposal.

  • What is Ai consulting?

Ai consulting is the structured analysis of where artificial intelligence delivers real value in a company, which tools fit and what legal aspects apply. At autonom it is part of a broader digitisation practice: process and data analysis, tool selection, Ai Act assessment and a concrete implementation plan — even when an automation without Ai turns out to be the better answer.

  • What is the difference between Ai consulting and Ai automation?

Ai consulting answers the what and the why — which processes qualify, which tools fit, which sequence makes sense. Ai automation is the technical implementation: automated workflows, knowledge bases, phone and chat assistants. We deliver both from a single source so recommendation and implementation stay aligned.

  • What does an implementation look like?

In four steps: 1) Analysis of workflows and data. 2) Selection of a first project with clearly measurable value. 3) Implementation with production-grade tools plus documentation and training. 4) Handover to your team, optionally with ongoing advisory. Typical duration for a first project: four to eight weeks.

  • How does consulting work for public-sector organisations?

Public-sector work adds requirements: GDPR, the EU Ai Act (public bodies often fall into high-risk categories), IT baseline protection and data sovereignty. Alongside the domain analysis we assess the regulatory frame, prefer EU-hosted or on-premises solutions where possible and document every processing step so oversight authorities can follow it. We also develop our own solutions for digitising administration.

  • What does working with you cost?

We do not publish figures on the website because a serious number depends on scope and depth. You receive your concrete cost range per measure in writing in the feasibility report — together with the expected savings. Via the Digital Check or an email to [email protected] you hear back within 24 hours.

  • What is the simplest first step?

The Digital Check: seven questions, followed by a short pre-call if you like. No contract, no cost, with a clear view of where digitisation pays off first for you. From there you can start the feasibility analysis if you want to.
